Help LIC Identify and Investigate Calf Defects

LIC is interested in hearing about any calf defects or deformities observed in calves sired by LIC-marketed bulls.

The defect form can be utilised in addition to MINDA calving comments and all defects and congenital abnormalities are of interest. Reporting defects helps LIC's veterinary and science teams identify patterns, investigate potential causes, and act quickly if a defect appears to be associated with a particular bull or bloodline.

DNA samples help us with our investigation process. If you are able to provide two DNA samples please specify below. One sample is used to verify the sire and the other is stored for R&D purposes.

We can visit to take these samples for you, otherwise if you do have the equipment on farm we will post a return courier bag and replacement DNA punches.
