 Protrack Vantage is New Zealand’s industry leading Full Automation system. It is suitable for Rotary systems, either new or existing.
In-Bail cow identification
As a cow steps onto the rotary platform, Protrack detects her electronic identification tag. At this point, the cow is allocated to the correct bail within Protrack. Once that occurs, Protrack can start to deliver real power to your milking process.
- Information about each cow is displayed automatically in real-time.
- The milking staff can glance at the Protrack monitor at the ‘cups on’ or ‘cups off‘ position to know which cow they are dealing with, rather than having to look at its eartag.
- Protrack will also provide you with an audio message to match your on-screen message, saving time and removing the need to continuously view the screen.
- The decision to milk a cow could potentially cost you thousands of dollars if that cow is currently within an antibiotic withholding period. With Protrack, you’ll know as soon as the cow steps onto the milking platform if her milk needs to be withheld.
- Protrack allows you to choose the information that you want to see about any of your cows in any bail. For example, the somatic cell count from her last herd test, recent reproductive history, or the groups in MINDApro she belongs to.
Alerts, Alerts....
With Protrack you are alerted to the information you need on each cow as she steps onto the platform. Important information like ‘High SCC cow’ or ‘Kicking cow’ is delivered to the milker at the ‘cups on’ or ‘cups off’ position with full configurablility.
 Colour Coding
Protrack makes it easy for you to understand and identify alerts by making them fully customisable, allowing you to colour code them and select any audible message you choose.

Intelligent Animal Feeding
Protrack gives you better overall control of your herd's production level by providing you with the functionality to feed cows on a cow-by-cow basis.
You can program Protrack to allocate the right amount of feed for each cow. This will help maximise the production potential of your herd and make sure that you don’t waste feed on cows that don’t need it.
Event Recording
Hot keys (or Quick Keys) will give you the ability to record an event such as a “Heat” or “Draft” at the touch of a button. With a single keystroke, Protrack will record data accurately, time and time again.
Treatment Recording
You need only record treatments once. Treatments will be automatically recorded in MINDApro, and you will have one single database of treatments.
Calvings
Record calvings in Protrack and MINDApro will be automatically updated.
Dry Off
Record animals as ‘dried off’ in Protrack and draft them out of the main herd. By recording a cow’s calving date and instructing Protrack to draft cows off after a set number of days in milk, you can more selectively dry off your cows to optimise production and cow condition.
Heats
Accurate and timely recording of heats in Protrack, plus Protrack’s ability to draft cows off once they are in heat, makes Protrack a powerful tool to use during AB. Eventually, Protrack will also be able to automatically ‘read’ heat-detecting devices, and draft those cows out for mating.
Pregnancy
Record cows as pregnant in Protrack and this information will be recorded immediately in MINDApro.
Liveweights
Protrack can connect to both Gallagher and Tru-Test Walk-over-weighing systems. Regular review of animal weigh data will assist you to make improved decisions around breeding and culling that could provide you with significant savings.
Condition score
Record, draft and feed on the basis of a cow’s condition score.
Drafting
Get the full value out of drafting animals
Protrack comes with an automated three-way drafting system. It provides you with intelligent drafting solutions for your farm to make drafting easy and accurate. Drafting can be carried out either via pre-selected criteria in MINDApro, e.g. draft out my group of high SCC cows, or reactively in the shed with the use of a touch screen.
Drafting out cows in MINDApro
MINDApro has the power to instruct Protrack to draft cows out using certain criteria. For example:
- Draft all my high somatic cell count cows to the right
- Draft all my two-year-olds for drying off
- Create feeding groups of cows for different pastures
- Draft all my colostrum cows
- Milk my OAD and TAD cows together, but draft them into separate herds after the milking
- Draft all my lower production cows for disposal as budget cows
- Set PW criteria in MINDApro to draft cows to be culled
Drafting cows out through a touch screen
Protrack also has the power to draft cows out at your request during the milking. No need fora mouse or keyboard - simply touch the Protrack screen and you can draft cows on demand.
