Advantages
The MINDA Software has useful tools to make it simple and easy to record information.
- "Wizards" have been specially developed to provide step by step guides for recording common tasks (eg. recording calvings, tagging of heifers, and vaccinations).
- The software records a history of all information sent to the database, reducing the need for paper, and a copy can be printed at any time. You can view the history of recorded events in plain English, in the Dairy Pane.
- Pull down menus mean there's no need to refer to the Code Book, and useful hints and tips can be viewed with the "Help" feature.
- Built in validation checks data for errors before sending it to the database. If the program detects an error, it will tell you how to fix it. It will not let you send incomplete information, either. This means fewer query reports.
- You don't need to be on-line while using the software, so you are not at the mercy of slow rural telephone lines, or monopolising the family telephone.
- You can hold the form and send it when a treatment is completed (in the case of health details) or when convenient to you (for animal details).

When you finish recording, select the "Synchronise Records" button to connect to the Internet and send information to the database. Each synchronisation prompts for a download of your latest herd information. With MINDA Software you are working with the latest information on your herd from the LIC National Database.

You can view this information for each animal by floating your mouse over the numbered animal icon.
You can print the details of your entries or even a Herd List at any time. You can use the Herd List as a reference as you prepare for your first herd test of the season.
